I could have written this question, and am deeply appreciative of your conversation. Your description of writing now being a minefield was spot on for me. I tried so hard to keep writing through the worst of the illness, that now, despite having way more green days, I'm scared to navigate it all (and feeling more than a little shame about trying to re-enter a career I left dangling). This acknowledgement and the suggestions in the post are helpful. Thank you. <3
I'm bookmarking this conversation to share with my friends, and to revisit later, as there is so much wisdom here. The vagus nerve practices are something I keep meaning to do, especially the breathing exercises. I know they work, why is it so hard to incorporate them into my daily routine?
It's so funny how simple daily things that will actually help us are somehow so impossible to actually do. But if there is something you are pretty consistent about, you could try tagging the breathing on to that. (I hear this works well for people who are not me.)
Ahhhhhh so many gems...so many glimmers! I love "protecting that energy envelope" and so much more in this entire post. Thank you both for sharing this incredibly enlightening conversation.
PS: I will lend either of you all my spoons for any dinner party, any time. :)
I loved talking to you about this subject, thank you. I'm fired up to give a workshop on this topic now too!
You 100% need to do a workshop on this.
Thank you so much for this.
Thank you for reading!

I'm so glad this was helpful!
Also, shame, pffft! Let that go, illness happens, we have to attend to it and everything else must then dangle.
"...everything else must then dangle." Thanks for that.

I seem to be missing a few spoons these days.... (Like literally. What happened to the spoons?)
This was a really good, informative, juicy conversation. It was a goddamn glimmer.
Thank you!
